I believe the choice to birth at home is the best for women, babies, family, and the wider community. I believe that the empowerment of women to birth their babies in the way they choose to do so, in the comfort and safety of their own home is so significant to be immeasurable.
Birthing at home is about planning, it is a birth where an attitude of being responsible for your own health and in charge of your own body is paramount. It is an affirmation of women’s ability to give birth.
The benefits of home birth are felt by the whole family, they can support you fully. I have been supporting women to birth at home for 36 years, initially I worked in New Zealand, I have now completed my endorsement so can offer to support women and families with homebirth in Mackay and Whitsundays.
