Midwife means ‘With Woman’The role of a Midwife is to offer support, guidance and education to women and their families throughout their pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum journey. An Endorsed Midwife, also known as a Privately Practicing Midwife, can order blood tests, ultrasounds and refer to specialists if needed. A Midwife is trained to understand and hold space for physiological birth, but also has the capability to manage emergency situations if they arise. An Endorsed Midwife is able to offer this service to you in your home.-

The services can vary with each Doula across the antenatal, labour, birth and postpartum journey. A Doula is a non-medical advocate, who can provide physical and emotional support to the birthing woman and her partner throughout labour and postpartum.-

The role of a Lactation Consultant is to support women and their babies throughout their breastfeeding journey which can range from pregnancy up until the child is 5 years of age. A Lactation Consultant is an expert in breastfeeding support and navigating deviations of normal, they also have the capacity to refer to specialists if needed.
