I am available in and around the Rainbow Beach/Gympie/Hervey Bay/Maryborough/Bundaberg area and west of these - happy to travel north as well if available.
My passion to support women during the childbearing years has come from personal experience as a homebirth mother and as a long-time midwife in homes and hospitals, in remote, rural and urban areas. I believe that to truly be with women (and their partners), I need to listen very carefully with my heart as well as my head. I gained a lot through the sciences but mostly through the arts and crafts of Wisewomen. It includes the knowledge and use of story-telling, positive thought practices, intuitive knowing, hypnobirthing, reflexology, reiki, sound and movement. I believe that women’s bodies are sacrosanct - and that childbirth is not to be feared, as it is a natural expression of life. I also believe women’s bodies and their babies have innate knowledge and that the birthing of children can be an empowering experience - one that will allow us to step confidently on to the path of parenting calmly and joyfully.
