I’m Emily Joscelyn. Birthworker, Doula, and founder of Primordial Essence in Bundaberg.

At Primordial Essence, our work is rooted in the belief that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are profound rites of passage deserving of reverence, compassion, and most importantly, continuity of care. We offer a calm, grounded presence, holding space for women and families to navigate this transformative season with confidence, connection, and trust in their own innate wisdom.

Our services weave together evidence-informed birth support, prenatal education, pregnancy massage to support the body and nervous system, and Spinning Babies® informed body balancing to support both the physical and emotional journey towards birth. Our practitioners are uniquely informed in the Mama Medicina Abdominal and Pelvic Care, Which is so beautifully supportive in pregnancy, and that precious postpartum time where the core is rebuilding after birth. We offer practical, educational, and relational support that honours each family’s individual needs, values, and choices.

Beyond birth, we provide conscious postpartum care, supporting mothers through the tender transition into motherhood with practical assistance, providing nourishing meals, nurturing care, and ceremonial offerings including Mama Blessings and Closing of the Bones. We believe postpartum deserves the same intention and preparation as birth itself, creating space for mothers to rest, be nourished, and feel genuinely held as they recover and integrate their experience.

At Primordial Essence, our intention is to offer more than a service; it is to cultivate a relationship built on trust, deep listening, and compassionate presence. Whether preparing for birth, navigating early parenthood, or honouring a significant life transition, every offering is an invitation to feel supported, connected, and at home in the wisdom of your own body.
