HBQ Volunteer Roles

HBQ is supported by a range of volunteer roles, each with different responsibilities and time commitments.

Requirements

To apply for a volunteer role, applicants must:

  • Be a current HBQ member

  • Be based in Queensland

  • Have access to phone, email and internet

  • Be able to attend the monthly HBQ General Meetings (held online)

  • Have strong communication skills

  • Have a passion for homebirth

  • Be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Please note: Some roles require applicants to have planned or experienced a homebirth journey.

Selection and onboarding

Successful applicants will be voted in by the HBQ team and provided with training and support as they transition into the role.

You are welcome to take your time completing the form. Please answer in your own words. Short, honest answers are perfect, and bullet points are welcome.

Please note that responses are not automatically saved before submission.

Your responses will be reviewed by the HBQ team. We are not looking for ‘right’ answers. We are looking for alignment, clarity, and care.

If shortlisted, you will be invited to a conversation with a HBQ team member to learn more about your approach, answer any questions you may have, and discuss next steps.

Privacy and consent

Please only share information you are comfortable sharing. Your responses will be viewed by the HBQ team for the purpose of volunteer recruitment.

What happens next?

  • You will see a confirmation message after submitting the form.

  • The HBQ team will receive your responses by email.

  • If shortlisted, you will be contacted to arrange a follow-up conversation.

  • If it seems like a good fit, you will need to be voted in by the current HBQ team.
